Artist Statement 

 For this assignment I created a calligramme of an airplane headed into the direction of a heart using a letter that I wrote to myself 20 years into the future. I chose to do a plane because I have a huge love and passion for traveling and desire to take many trips in the future. The reason that I included a heart was because In addiction to my overall love for traveling a lot of my travel is to see family and friends who live in different states and even different countries. I wanted the image to be representative of both my love to travel, traveling to see loved ones, but as well as being representative of be following my heart whoever I go. To create this image I used the pen tool to create the numerous different shapes/ pieces of the airplane and then I pasted my letter into the parts of the plan using the "envelope distort". 

Letter to My Future self 

Dear Twenty-year old Sara, 

I am writing to you from a study room in Palm apartments in the third-week of my second semester as a sophomore at the University of Tampa. You are currently twenty years old and just recovering from a fun filled Gasparilla weekend, spent with your closest friends. By now you are well into your Advertising and Public Relations major and thoroughly enjoying learning and enjoying as you go. Not entirely sure what future career will look like but I hope that it aligns with what I am learning in my classes and my personal strong suits in life. This past year has been the biggest year of growth that I have yet to experience from starting college, changing my major, overcoming challenges academically, friendship changes, continuous therapy, family changes, breakups, and more. I am a different person than I was even 4 months ago. I can only hope that I continue to grow, learn, and develop more and more as I evolve into the kind of person that I want to be. I have so many questions for myself twenty years from now, where are we, did we stay in Tampa or did we make a home somewhere else? How many nieces and nephews do we have and who did they grow up to be? What career are we in, and is it aligned with what I am learning now? Are we happily married to the kind of man we are keeping our eyes and hearts open for and do we have the family we have dreamed of since as long as we can remember? All I can hope and not need an answer for is what kind of person we are? I promise to work everyday to be proud of the person that we are, the kind of person who prioritizes self growth by working on past trauma and breaking the cycles but most importantly the kind of person that friends and family can continuously depend on.

Original Sketches 3 Designed Business Cards   Artist Statement For this assignment I created my own personal business cards using Adobe InDesign. I first began by sketching out my original vision of what I thought I wanted my business cards to look like, however when it came time to actually designing I found new inspiration. I first step up the layout of the InDesign file to have six sides too it so three cards in total. I then downloaded two image backgrounds from Morguefile which I placed in the background of my cards to act as a backdrop for the rest of my design. Animation

  Artist  Statement  For this assignment I worked on creating my own animation using Adobe Photoshop. For the animation I decided to do it with the inspiration of my dog chasing a ball. To create it I found an image of a dog through a google search in two different positions that would look like it is running and sitting. I also found an image of a tennis ball and used the quick election tool to trace around the ball. When it came time to creating the actual frame animations I decided to create a story of two dogs chasing one another and chasing after the ball. Overall, I found this assignment to be slightly challenging when creating the vision that I had in my mind, however I am happy with how it turned out.

Final Portfolio

  Artist Statement  For this final assignment on Adobe InDesign I created of a complication of all of the assignments and projects I have created over the course of the semester. I began by first downloading a template off of AdobeStock that I then placed into Adobe InDesign and modified. I then adjusted the fonts and texts to ensure that there was not any errors present in the document. Following that I downloaded all of the assignments I have created this semester from DropBox and arranged them in order following the table of contents. I made sure to include my artist statements for each of the projects as well as a page about me. Overall, I am happy with the outcome of this assignment and I found it to be the perfect ending to the semester to be able to reflect back on everything that has been created and achieved in this course.   Template used and modified  AdobeStock-483192635
