Artist Statement   For this assignment I created a calligramme of an airplane headed into the direction of a heart using a letter that I wrote to myself 20 years into the future. I chose to do a plane because I have a huge love and passion for traveling and desire to take many trips in the future. The reason that I included a heart was because In addiction to my overall love for traveling a lot of my travel is to see family and friends who live in different states and even different countries. I wanted the image to be representative of both my love to travel, traveling to see loved ones, but as well as being representative of be following my heart whoever I go. To create this image I used the pen tool to create the numerous different shapes/ pieces of the airplane and then I pasted my letter into the parts of the plan using the "envelope distort".  Letter to My Future self  Dear Twenty-year old Sara,  I am writing to you from a study room in Palm apartments in t...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3NBKRywEbNs This video showcased a very simple and basic tutorial for using adobe illustrator. It introduced illustrator and showed the basic tools that are associated with it. Based off of this video alone I believe that both the white and black selection tools will be easy to use/navigate with. On the other hand, based off of the tutorial the align panel and pathfinder look like they will be more complicated or complex to use and navigate. Overall, I found this video to be very useful it provided be with a basic understanding of illustrator, the tools, and how to create/navigate easy drawing with this software.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3GzumUieDPY This video featured a quick beginners tutorial for using adobe illustrator.       Hi my name is Sara Lemieux, I am a sophomore here at the University of Tampa. I was born in Minnesota but moved to Chicago the summer before freshman year of high school. My major is a general concentration in Advertising and Pubic Relations with a minor in communications. I enjoy spending time with my friends/roommates, traveling, warm weather, and working out. Prior to this school year I was majoring in Entrepreneurship which resulted in some struggles and even fails in previous courses. I did not feel that entreneurship was the right fit for me, so I made the switch over the summer. Ever since I have not only throughly enjoyed my major and the courses I am in, but had achieved the best semester grades I ever have.       When it comes to this Digital Media course my first initial feelings is that this I expect to learn a lot of new, but useful skills. I do not have much knowledge or sk...
